U13 Boys season opener
The under 13 boys had their first game of the campaign away to Rosslare Rangers, Hibs played some superb football and dominated most of the early exchanges only for Rangers to take the lead with a break against the run of play and led 1-0 at half-time. Changes at the break seen Noah Power come on wide and his presence made a massive impact to the Hibs forward line with pace and direct attacking. Rangers doubled their lead with another ball over the top that Hibs keeper Jack Burke made a great attempt at keeping out. Courtown’s boys never dropped their heads and replied straight away with a well worked piece of play starting from centre back Cailem Kirwan to Matthew Bergin and was well finished by TJ Flynn. A second followed shortly after, when Marcel Kupczak Was very brave against the opposition keeper to force the ball into the net. The winner came when Marcel didn’t give up on a back pass to the Rosslare keeper, nicking it off his toe and placing into the bottom corner. A brilliant “never say die” attitude and all round performance from all players to bring home all 3 points. Notable dislays from Leon Stafford, Harry Smith and 2 goal man Marcel Kupczak.
