U14 boys pre-season continues

Our U14 boys continued their hectic pre-season with 2 games in 3 days this week. First up they had a rematch against an improving Rangers team tonight at Riverchapel Complex. Hibs started with a lot of possession and some nice play in the early part of the game and took the lead through Jude Stafford with a well executed chip over the keeper. Rangers equalised shortly after from a corner and both teams went in level at half time. Hibs took the lead again in the second half with Lee Doyle making a perfectly weighted pass to Jude, and he duly finished. Rangers scored direct from a corner midway through the second half, and wrapped up the game shortly after with another goal. Top performance from Lee Doyle in his 1st game back, also great shows from Evan Roche, Luke Mc Donough and double goal scorer Jude Stafford. Rangers winning out 3-2.

They followed this with a trip to Kilmuckridge on Saturday morning to face St. Jospehs. Hibs started well and took the lead through Jude Stafford after he was played in with a lovely ball from Evan Roche, St. Joseph's equalised shortly after when a mix up between keeper and defender gifted them a goal. The Kilmuckridge side continued strong and scored 2 more goals, 1 either side of half time to lead 3-1. A lot of great possession and control led to another strike from Jude brought his tally to 9 goals in 5 games for pre-season so far and put Hibs within touching distance at 3-2. Cailum Kirwan dominated the Hibs defence and Lee Doyle controlled the midfield well to keep the pressure on the opponents and finally a fantastic half volley from Owen Carroll meant the game would finish 3-3. Another step up in class, great spirit and working well together. Top performances from Cian Moorhouse, Cillian Egan and Leon Stafford.
